David Liu

David is the former Creative Director of Virtual Reality at Viacom NEXT, where he steered the thought and vision for projects, bullish on the belief that VR will change lives in ways wonderful and strange. His last project at Viacom NEXT, Aeronaut VR featuring Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, clinched the prestigious Cannes Lions Grand Prix in the Digital Craft category. A champion of combinatorial creativity, he has designed and shipped AAA and indie games, directed television and film productions and inadvertently made Ira Glass unhappy when his kinetic type animation based on Ira’s words went viral. In 2012, he designed and produced Songbird, a location-based narrative experience featuring live actors, short films, and an iOS app which debuted at the Singapore Arts Festival. He was also represented in Australia by production studio KICK KICK PUNCH, where he directed music videos and for clients such as the BBC World Service, Ford Motors and SAP.
