Evan Shapiro

Evan Shapiro is widely recognized as the unofficial cartographer of the Media Universe since Deadline published his first Media Universe Map. It has been embraced by businesses, executives, analysts, and colleges as the de facto representation of the media landscape. Through his essays in the Media War & Peace Newsletter and his agency, ESHAP, Shapiro navigates Media's future with his distinct perspective. Additionally, Shapiro is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning producer of TV, films, and podcasts, including Portlandia, This Film Is Not Yet Rated, Please Like Me, Comedy Bang Bang, Brick City, and Harmonquest. He is also a professor at NYU and Fordham schools of business, and Board Chair of the non-profit educational enterprise One Diverse Industry.
