Tanya Shah
Tanya Shah, M.B.A., M.P.H., is the Assistant Vice President for the High-Need, High-Cost portfolio in the Delivery System Reform Program at The Commonwealth Fund. In her current role, Tanya funds and leads health services research projects aimed at identifying solutions to improving care for the sickest and most expensive patients in the US health care system. She also serves as a national expert on the topic of complex care. Previously, Tanya was Assistant Commissioner, Bureau of Primary Care Access and Planning with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. As Assistant Commissioner, she was responsible for establishing a new bureau focused on implementation of the ACA and ensuring access to high quality primary care for all New Yorkers. In addition, Tanya acted as a lead executive for the city's emergency response for both Hurricane Sandy and Ebola where her role was to ensure NYC's health system readiness.
