Kristin Neubauer

Kristin joined Reuters in 2001 as a freelance news producer on the Latin American TV desk. Two years later, she was hired on staff and spent the next 15 years covering Latin America, sometimes in the field, sometimes on the desk coordinating with the field producers and crews. Kristin spent most of her field time in Haiti, starting in 2006 with violence-plagued presidential elections. After the 2010 earthquake, she traveled back and forth from Haiti on a regular basis, following the recovery and ongoing political violence.
In recent years, her focus has shifted to supporting the mental health and well being of her colleagues and journalists in general. To that end, Kristin became a Peer Supporter in Reuters Peer Network and work on various mental health-oriented projects and initiatives Reuters is developing. Kristin currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia and spends most of her free time horseback riding, sketching, painting and hiking.
