Michael Hansen

Michael is an influencer and thought leader in the veteran community. Recognized for pioneering a unique approach to business innovation, Michael created a data-backed model to drive the recruitment and development of veteran leadership throughout corporate America.

Despite a decorated career in the Marine Corps, and initial success in his civilian career, the recession sent Michael back to the drawing board. After finding strong success in sales, he discovered his purpose building a dynamic and transformative community in an unlikely place - a home remodeling company named Power Home Remodeling. At Power, Michael noticed that veterans and military spouses weren’t just successful, but disproportionally successful, so he worked closely with his executive leadership to create the Power Veterans Initiative (PVI). This initiative is built on a foundation that views veterans not as charity, but as a smart business strategy. Beyond cultivating veterans into business leaders, PVI is enhancing awareness about military families and transforming the national narrative around veterans in the workplace. Michael has been featured in several articles, including the Washington Post and glassdoor.com, and was awarded the Veterans of Influence award by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Michael holds a degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and attended graduate school at the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC.
