Karin Marquez

Karin Marquez has over 20 years In Public Safety Emergency Communications. She started her
career as a dispatcher at a small 9-1-1 center. Working alone, answering non-emergency and 911 calls, at the same time dispatching Police, Fire, and EMS and monitoring booking cameras. After 2 years, she made the move to a neighboring 9-1-1 center. As an operations supervisor, still covering shifts on the “floor'' she got involved in project management for various technologies inside of the dispatch center. This opened up doors to be involved in advisory council boards for some of the largest technology vendors in Emergency Communications. She used her voice to provide feedback on usability and efficiency of new features and user interfaces within various software applications. In January 2018, she began a new chapter working for RapidSOS, a transformative technology company working to provide fast and accurate wireless location for 9-1-1 centers.
