Arjuna Costa
Arjuna Costa is a partner at Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm, where he co-manages the firm’s Financial Inclusion initiative, leading venture investments across emerging markets, including Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. He holds board roles in numerous innovative financial services companies, including Cignifi, eCurrency Mint, Juntos, LenddoEFL, MicroEnsure, Pagatech, and Zoona. He also leads engagement with policy and research initiatives, such as AFI Global, CGAP, GSMA’s Mobile Money, and the Better Than Cash Alliance.
Before joining Omidyar, Arjuna consulted with Bankable Frontier Associates to the Gates Foundation. Prior to that, he was a member of the special situations investment practice at The Rohatyn Group. In 2003, he co-founded a private equity fund focused on the turnaround of distressed commercial banks. He began his career on Wall Street.
Arjuna earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Columbia University.
