Joy Leopold

Dr. Joy Leopold is a recent graduate of the University of Miami, where she received her doctorate in Journalism and Media Management. Her research focuses on social movements, digital media, and collective action. She has studied protests in the United States and internationally, and is interested in the production and use of news media to stimulate and foster change. Her work also centers around the representation of underrepresented groups such as low-wage workers, people of color, and sexual minorities in both media and broader society.
