Aarushi Machavarapu
Aarushi Machavarapu is a 17 year old Asian-American female entrepreneur from Austin. She is experienced in management and social impact strategizing. Aarushi has founded two companies, both of which are focused around social impact. In 2018, she won the SXSW EDU Student Startup Competition for her first company, Threading Twine, securing $1,000 in seed funding. Since then, she has received funding for Threading Twine from T-Mobile, has incubated her second social impact company at the University of Pennsylvania, and gone on to work for supermodel Karlie Kloss to help spread and empower the Women in STEM initiative. Aside from entrepreneurship, she has worked to organize the yearly TEDxYouth@Austin event for the last 3 years and attended the Model G20 Summit at Harvard University as the Head of State for Senegal, where she developed an agreement between all member states to work towards economic gender equality. Aarushi is passionate about entrepreneurship, equal rights, & Gen Z impact.
