Tanzeem Choudhury is an associate professor in Computing and Information Sciences at Cornell University and a co-founder of HealthRhythms Inc -- a startup focused on transforming the way mental health is measured and managed. At Cornell, she directs the People-Aware Computing group, which works on inventing the future of technology-assisted wellbeing. Tanzeem received her PhD from the MIT Media Laboratory. She has been awarded the MIT Technology Review TR35 award, TED Fellowship, Kavli fellowship and Ubiquitous Computing 10 year Impact Award. Tanzeem grew up in Bangladesh and was the first Bangladeshi to receive a PhD from the MIT Media Lab and is also the only Bangladeshi faculty at Cornell. Tanzeem is passionate about breaking gender stereotypes of women in technology.
