Jenny Black
Jenny Black BSN, RN, SANE-A, CA-SANE is the SAFE Alliance’s Forensic Nursing and
Advocacy Programs Director. She has been a forensic nurse since 2007 and has cared for over
1100 people in the immediate aftermath of sexual assault. Ms. Black testifies as an expert in
civilian and military courts on both sexual assault and strangulation. She received her
undergraduate degree from Texas Woman’s University. Ms. Black is certified as a sexual assault
nurse examiner by the Texas Office of the Attorney General and the International Association of
Forensic Nurses. She served as a cochair for the Travis County Sexual Assault Response and
Resource Team and is currently serving a second term with their executive committee. Ms. Black
believes that one of the most important functions of forensic nursing is to reduce suffering.
