Cheryl Miller Houser launched creative agency Creative Breed in 2013 to tell stories that generate empathy and inspire people to think, feel and take action. Cheryl co-directed and produced its acclaimed feature documentary GENERATION STARTUP (on Netflix) and oversaw the film’s successful distribution, marketing and social media. MAD GENIUS TIPS, a web series Cheryl created for Food & Wine Magazine, was nominated for a James Beard Award, has 60+ million views and spawned a book. Creative Breed also makes branded content, commercials, editorial content, curriculum and other forms of content.
Cheryl began her career producing feature films, including David O. Russell’s first movie SPANKING THE MONKEY, winner of the Sundance Audience Award. She has produced award-winning social issue documentaries like CHILDREN OF DARKNESS (PBS), a film about children with mental illness nominated for an Academy Award, and TRUST ME (Showtime), about an interfaith camp in rural North Carolina after 9/11. She has helped create and produce hundreds of hours of nonfiction TV for broadcasters such as the Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Food Network.
