Christopher Racster
Christopher Racster has made an international impact as an advocate, fundraiser & filmmaker, employing media to help shape public perception & acceptance. Facing his own struggles with internalized homophobia growing up, he sought refuge & affirmation in films that represented his own experience as a young gay man. These films impressed upon him the power of story to create understanding & change perception. Fueled by the challenges the LGBT community continued to face, Christopher realized his dream of becoming a film producer. Relating to his own experience finding affirmation and acceptance through queer stories on film, he determined early on to make depictions of LGBT experiences his sole focus. His first film, "April's Shower," premiered at Outfest, beginning a decade-long relationship with the organization. In 2011, Christopher joined the Outfest staff. In 2015, he was named Executive Director, charged with growing the programs and stature of the organization worldwide.
