Clarissa Peterson

Clarissa Peterson is a user experience strategist and writer who focuses on creating purposeful content and designing with empathy. She especially excels in facilitating communication within teams. Clarissa has been working with the web since 2002, starting as a front-end developer and then spending many years as a “web team of one” at nonprofit and advocacy organizations, before more recently setting off on her own. Past projects include work in UX design, accessibility, content strategy, and technical writing and editing.

Clarissa is the author of Learning Responsive Web Design: A Beginner's Guide (O'Reilly Media). She also creates online courses for LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com), teaches at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and speaks at design and tech conferences around the world. Clarissa lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
