Brittany Hicks

Brittany [Hicks] was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. Since graduating from NC A&T with a degree in Supply Chain Management, she has worked on the cutting edge of e-commerce. Starting her merchandising career at Belk, known for its Season 12 Project Runway collaboration and has been at Amazon Fashion for the last four years!

Brittany strongly believes in the interdisciplinary approach because this framework has helped her navigate today’s dynamic and fast pace retail environment. Influences from her early work experience at Lehman Brothers in Capital Markets & Investment Management and later exposure at Harley Davidson as a Supply Planner have shaped her flexible business style. She often tells students to embrace everything, because “you don’t know what you don’t know”.

Throughout her career, she has noticed pipeline flaws in academia that continued into the corporate environment, inspiring her most recent venture Girls in Fashion and Tech (GiFT). GiFT is addressing the challenges that leave fashion professionals and other creatives at a disadvantage in a business climate that grows more heavily tech focused each year.
