Jamie Beard

Jamie serves as the Assistant Director of the Blackstone LaunchPad at The University of Texas at Austin. An energy, regulatory and environmental attorney by training, Jamie worked as an associate attorney at the international law firm WilmerHale after graduating from Boston University School of Law. She then joined an MIT energy storage spin-off as a member of the executive team, and managed two major federal projects, including a multi-million dollar award from the DOE Geothermal Technologies Office. Jamie is a passionate advocate for clean energy initiatives, and is a wholehearted believer in geothermal energy as the baseload capable clean energy of the future. In 2018, Jamie and Dr. Metcalfe launched the Geothermal Entrepreneurship Organization, of which she serves as Managing Director.
