Entrepreneurship ecosystem building is fastly emerging as a key economic development strategy in urban and rural communities. This strategy provides an environment that holistically supports entrepreneurs and they start and grow companies. This new field of local economic development has grown substantially over the past decade. Despite this increased attention there is a notable absence on how this economic development practice impacts and influences diverse communities as a whole, and diverse entrepreneurs specifically. As the demographics of America change, it is important to include these diverse populations in all economic development strategies in general, but specifically entrepreneurship ecosystem strategies. This session is designed to begin to address that gap by focusing on what an inclusive high growth entrepreneurship ecosystem is, and some key frameworks that will help local communities begin to develop inclusivity in their local entrepreneurship ecosystems.
