What defines belonging, community, and connection in an age of increased polarization, online vitriol, and epidemic shaming and blaming? Are we willing to brave the wilderness of uncertainty and criticism by showing up and speaking out? Or, are the consequences too high, and do we instead opt for staying quiet, hiding out in our ideological bunkers, or trying to fit in and slide by?

In this keynote, we’ll explore how true belonging requires us to believe in and belong to ourselves so fully that we can find sacredness both in being a part of something and in standing alone when necessary. What does it mean to show up, be seen, and live brave, and, more importantly, what price do we pay for our comfortable silence?
