Startup Funding: From Apprenticeships to Professions
Just like entrepreneurship, the funding of early stage companies - venture investing - has expanded beyond Boston & Silicon Valley, where venture capital started and the industry practices are celebrated. But unlike entrepreneurship, there has been little innovation in the very process of investing in startups.
Our panel will reflect on the history of venture capital; the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities (and examples) of innovative models, and some of the threats to American innovation and our economy.
