Paola Mathe grew up in a small town in Haiti. She was very shy and soft spoken, and was often told what she could or could not do based on her background and physical appearance. One day, she decided to take control and face her fears. “I realized little girls like me did not get the life they dreamt of or deserved if they didn’t learn to speak up and show up for themselves.”
