Keychange aims to accelerate change and create a better more inclusive music industry for present and future generations. At the same time the Recording Academy of Grammy Awards formed a Diversity & Inclusion Task Force to examine barriers and biases affecting women and other underrepresented voices in the music industry. Reeperbahn Festival is presenting a discussion with representatives from both initiatives to talk about European vs American perspectives, possibilities and challenges.

What are the aims and measures concerning gender equality in the music business in Europe and in the U.S.? What are the starting situations and how can a solution look like? Let’s learn from each other and take the next step into a global future.

The session is part of the Year of German-American Friendship (“Deutschlandjahr USA”), a comprehensive and collaborative initiative funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, implemented by the Goethe-Institut, and with support from the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
