YV Baby at Buffalo Billiards
YV Baby is an American rap artist from Fresno, CA. His name “YV Baby”
comes from his infatuation with older model cars, mainly the “Chevelle”,
the car made famous on the hit 80s television sitcom, “Dukes of Hazard”.
YV Baby shortened the name to “Chevelle” to “Velle” as in “Young Velle”
then added “Baby” to his name. YV Baby began making a presence
known in the Northern California music scene with mixtape releases and
performances throughout the region. He once opened for multi platinum
artist, The Game, at the well- known Observatory venue in Costa Mesa,
CA and for Chief Keef in Fresno. YV Baby’s wide range of musical
influences include R&B sensation Gerald Levert to Hip Hop icon Tupac to
some of today’s platinum selling artist like Drake, Lil Boosie, and Kevin
Gates. He credits his family for exposing him to a wide variety of musical
genres. Outside of music, YV Baby enjoys cooking and writing poetry. His
debut album will be released this fall titled “Worth the Weight” by Str8
Laced Entertainment, a music and media company based out of Beverly
Hills, CA.
