Julia Lucille at Central Presbyterian Church

Date TBA

Eternally

Combining ethereal dream pop elements and austere folk influences, Illinois-born singer/songwriter Julia Lucille began her career in Portland, Oregon, where she studied ethnomusicology at Lewis & Clark College. Her dark-hued sound recalls some of the winsome loneliness of German folkstress Sibylle Baier, a noted influence, while taking on some experimental indie undertones. Returning home to California, Lucille spent a year honing new material, some of which appeared on a 2012 solo effort titled Homing. A move to Texas yielded a 2016 collection of lo-fi demos called Bedroom Tapes, Vol. 1, followed by a proper follow-up album in the panoramic and more fully formed Chthonic, which she recorded in Dripping Springs with Cross Record members Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski. The album was released in 2017 by Austin indie Keeled Scales.
