Yiying Lu
Yiying Lu was born in Shanghai China, Educated in Sydney Australia & London UK, now based in San Francisco Silicon Valley as a Creative Director. She is an award-winning artist and designer with more than 10 years of experience in the creative realm. Yiying was named a "Top 10 Emerging Leader in Innovation" in the Microsoft Next 100 series. Her projects have been featured in many publications, including The New York Times, Forbes, The Atlantic, Fast Company, NBC News, TIME, Wired Magazine, The Verge, CNN, BBC, San Francisco Chronicle, TechCrunch, Mashable, Engadget, The Huffington Post, and so on. Her client list includes Disney, PepsiCo, Microsoft, Twitter, Sony, Expedia, and so on.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums globally. Notable projects include Disney Shanghai Recruitment Campaign, the official Dumpling Emoji, the Twitter Fail Whale, Conan O'Brien's Pale Whale, First Hand-Painted Water Color QR Code, and the SXSW Interactive Big Bag Art.
Yiying was the first artist invited to join IDEO Shanghai for its Creative in Residence program in China in 2017. She is also a design lecturer at NYU Shanghai program of Creativity & Innovation. Previously, Yiying was the Creative Director at 500 Startups. She is dedicated to practicing and implementing cross-culture design thinking with startup companies and corporate organizations, and bridging the gap between the art realm and the tech realm.
