Rachel Whitney joined Pandora in 2015 as the Head of Country Music Programming. In this role, she drives programming for Country and the rich and varied catalog associated with it by ensuring the quality of Pandora’s music library and related genre stations, improving listener experience, creating associated editorial content for Pandora’s blog and social media, and representing Pandora within the Country music community.
Rachel has over 10 years experience at the intersection of Nashville’s music scene and digital technology. She most recently worked as the Director of Digital Marketing at Borman Entertainment where she led online partner relationships for artists including Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Alison Krauss and Mickey Guyton. Prior to Borman, she co-founded interactive marketing company, BigData Marketing, which provided services for a variety of clients including Martina McBride, Wynton Marsalis, and label aggregator, Thirty Tigers, and previously worked in online music video promotion at AristoMedia.
Originally from Wichita, KS, Rachel received her BA from Indiana University and MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Business.
