My name is Mike Boris and I am a man of music.
I'm an award-winning music producer, music supervisor, and music strategist who specializes in marrying sound waves with brands creatively, fluidly. To date, I've worked my magic on over 6,000 commercials and consulted for countless agencies, big dogs (Saatchi, Havas, Digitas FCB, KBS) and boutique operations (Team One, Lloyd & CO, Ferrara & Company) alike. I've also applied my skills and experiences to endeavors with brands directly, among them Weight Watchers, Kohl’s, Barney’s, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, iHome, and Estée Lauder.
I understand the music industry from every angle thanks to my long and varied track record. I started on the recording side of things, cutting my teeth as an assistant engineer at NYC's legendary Edison Studios. From there, I headed to JSM Music, where I worked as chief engineer. After those studio gigs, I switched gears and jumped to the agency side of the business, first as a music producer at Ogilvy & Mather, then as VP head of music at Bates, and finally as SVP head of music at McCann Erickson, where I stayed for a decade.
One of my greatest strengths and resources is the impressive group of musicians of all shapes and sizes I maintain relationships with. I'm a producer who's collaborated with a who's-who of celebrity artists, like Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas, Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Plain White T’s, Lenny Kravitz, Vanessa Carlton, and Beyoncé and Solonge Knowles. Somewhere in the middle are my indie-leaning efforts; I've worked with countless up-and-coming artists over the years.
