Austin Carson is the Policy Advisor for Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27). He staffs the Congressman on his Judiciary assignment, focusing on the Intellectual Property and Regulatory Reform subcommittees.
In his position with the Congressman, Austin has worked to develop legislation including the “You Own Devices Act,” which prevents copyrights on essential software from interfering with device ownership, and the “Trade Protection Not Troll Protection Act” with Rep. Cardenas (D-CA) which takes on patent trolls in the International Trade Commission.
Austin is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia.
