Dr. Sinan Karahan has been leading research teams for the development of mathematical and scientific software applications in various industries. He has strong background in Sensor Fusion, Estimation, Robotics and Control Theory. Dr. Karahan’s experience encompasses over 25 years of research and development. Dr. Karahan received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Linear and Nonlinear Control Theory at University of California,
Davis. Dr. Karahan has been part of NASA Ames Research Center as a researcher on Air Traffic Control Systems. He has also been part of Apple where he developed and implemented Attitude Estimation algorithms on the iPhone using inertial motion sensors. During his work at Invensense, he developed numerous sensor fusion and Calibration algorithms as well as indoor navigation applications using particle filters. More recently, Dr. Karahan worked on various Autonomous Driving algorithms, such as Sensor Fusion, Perception, Navigation, Path Planning, and Control of Autonomous Vehicles at SF Motors. Currently, Dr Karahan continues to perform research and development on autonomous driving at Xmotors. Dr. Karahan has a strong passion and interest in the most recent developments in Autonomous Driving, and innovating on these.
