Engin Önder has a background in advertising and communication design. Not planning to be a journalist in the first place, Engin ended up in the media business due to ecopolitics of Turkish media. As the founder of 140journos, Turkey's popular new media publisher, he has been in a constant effort to understand, analyze and tell the story of Turkey since 2012. Named as “The Man Transforming Journalism in Turkey” in Time Magazine’s “Next Generation Leaders” series in 2015, Engin gave lectures in many U.S. academies such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Northwestern with professor Zeynep Tüfekçi. Engin occasionally writes for Harvard University’s Nieman reports and is the co-author of the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Erdogan's Galaxy" published from 60pages and Boston Review.
