Elisabeth Durkin produces scripted projects for film, TV and web in addition to creating corporate and commercial content for brands including Macy’s and Maybelline. Recent work includes Dinette for BRIC TV, a retelling of the 1982 film Diner set in present day and recast with all female and genderqueer talent; and Red States, a short doc for First Look Media’s Topic.com. She produced the comedic short, The Focus Group, which was included in New York Magazine’s Approval Matrix and Escape from Garden Grove, which was selected as a finalist in the Sundance Channel Shorts European competition. Elisabeth majored in journalism at New York University. After graduation, she worked at Life Magazine and then joined the editorial staff of InStyle Magazine where she wrote and edited articles for the publication’s fashion, beauty and lifestyle sections. At InStyle, Elisabeth got her first taste of video production, supporting the brand’s executive producer in creating online videos for InStyle.com. Elisabeth transitioned fully into the production world as an associate producer for Martha Stewart where she was a member of the team producing primetime television specials for MSLO and the Hallmark Channel. She was once trapped in a chicken coop with Martha but lived to tell the tale.
