BLACKandSTEM

Dr. Stephani Page is a pharmacology postdoctoral research associate at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on the regulation of glucose stress responses and the utilization of small molecules in intracellular signaling. She is the creator and curator of #BLACKandSTEM and #marginsci social media communities. Her science outreach and engagement involves teaching in grade school classrooms and in rural community centers. Stephani has served all over the country as an advocate, speaker, and consultant on science communication, the relationships between science and society, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM. She is a featured speaker on the Hidden No More: STEM Women of Color tour across North Carolina facilitated by Morehead Planetarium & Science Center. She has been a subject and contributor in several outlets including Fast Company, B*tch Media, Al Jazeera Stream, and NPR. She currently serves in several capacities including as an appointee for the NIH working group on the Next Generation Researcher Initiative, advisory board member for Future of Research, and associate editor for The POSTDOCket.
