Tom Tait has served as mayor of Anaheim since 2010.
As mayor, Tait has advanced a culture of kindness to promote a more connected, resilient community and economic freedom to ensure a dynamic business environment.
Under Tait’s City of Kindness initiative, Anaheim students have completed more than 1 million acts of kindness. Efforts to promote kindness have had a positive impact in addressing the underlying causes of social issues such as crime, bullying, drug abuse and elder care.
The mayor’s Hi Neighbor program, which encourages neighbors to get to know one another through acts of kindness, has created a city that’s better prepared to deal with inevitable disasters.
Mayor Tait’s Regulatory Relief Task Force has eliminated regulatory burdens on existing and prospective businesses in Anaheim, resulting in more freedom for people to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
Tait received his bachelor’s in finance from the University of Wyoming and master’s of business administration and law degree from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
Aside from his duties as mayor, Tait is chief executive officer of Tait and Associates, a civil engineering firm, and Tait Environmental Services, an environmental consulting company.
