Chris Stover
Chris Stover serves as Head of Digital Cinematography and Previsualization at DreamWorks Animation, where he is responsible for managing the teams supporting preproduction work across the studio. In his role, Chris works with directors to explore ways of enriching storytelling by experimenting with different camera staging and art direction options before moving into production.
During his time at DreamWorks Animation, Chris has contributed to numerous films including How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Trolls, Rise of the Guardians, and Turbo, as well as many development projects. Chris also supervised previsualization on sequences for NBCUniversal’s The Fate of the Furious and developed pitch visualization for a live action/CG hybrid film for NBCUniversal.
Prior to joining DreamWorks Animation, Chris worked as a computer graphic artist and animator at Rough Draft Studios where he translated the 2D style from TV shows to 2.5D and 3D, creating a more cinematic scope on projects including Futurama and The Simpsons Movie.
Chris has also directed commercials, VFX, and both animated and live action short films Chris was trained as a stop motion animator at Will Vinton Studios (now Laika) and earned a BA in CG Animation from the Art Institute of Portland.
