Jill Hopper

Jill Hopper serves as Head of Global Production for DreamWorks Animation and reports to the President, Chris deFaria. In this role, Hopper manages physical production and production technology for all ventures except television.

She is responsible for the creation and execution of show production plans and crafting the strategy to maintain the most efficient and reliable global production plan for the studio.

Hopper balances the 1000+ talent pool, multiple studio locations, financial goals, digital resources, and ever evolving creative and release date changes. Hopper is also responsible for the strategy to launch new studio initiatives and technologies with the least disruption and maximum return on investment.

She has overseen initiatives that have increased productivity by 50% while simultaneously improving production value by 50%. She partners with the DWA Executive team to nurture a creative and innovative environment for artists, technologists and engineers.

Hopper began her animation career in 1989 in London, on Steven Spielberg’s An American Tail: Fievel Goes West and relocated to Los Angeles at the start of DreamWorks Animation, more than 20 years ago. She has served in a production or executive role for more than 100 productions, and her experience spans high and low end budgets in both traditional hand drawn animation and cutting edge 3D stereo productions.
