Chris Strachwitz

Chris Strachwitz (b. July 1, 1931), a German-born American, is the founder and president of Arhoolie Records, established in 1960, which became one of the leading labels recording and issuing blues, Cajun, norteño and other forms of roots music from the US and elsewhere. Arhoolie now exists as Smithsonian Arhoolie. Chris had the vision for CHULAS.
