Lance Hayden
Dr. Lance Hayden began his career as a human intelligence (HUMINT) operations officer with the Central Intelligence Agency almost thirty years ago. Since then he has held public and private sector positions in the field of information security as an educator, a consultant, and an executive. His career includes roles with KPMG, FedEx, Cisco, the Berkeley Research Group, and ePatientFinder, where he is currently the Chief Privacy and Security Officer. Over the course of his career he has helped individuals and organizations understand and improve their security behaviors and cultures, making themselves more resilient and resistant to attack, including social engineering. Lance teaches courses on security, privacy, and the intelligence community at the University of Texas School of Information, where he received his PhD in Information Science. He lives in Austin.
