Jerry Moran has been serving Kansans in the United States Senate since 2011. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, he has been a vocal advocate for pro-growth, pro-job policies that make certain businesses can succeed. He previously served seven terms in the United States House of Representatives. Sen. Moran serves on the influential Senate Appropriations Committee; the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee; and the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. As chairman of the Commerce Subcommittee on Manufacturing, Trade, and Consumer Protection, Sen. Moran continues his strong advocacy for modernizing government technology, strengthening consumer protections and empowering our Olympic and amateur athletes. Through this position, Sen. Moran is leading bipartisan efforts on data privacy legislation and continues his work to expand rural broadband coverage across the country. Sen. Moran also serves as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, where he leads funding decisions that impact men and women working at agencies including the Department of Commerce, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, NASA and Economic Development Administration.
