Sanjay Sood

Sanjay Sood is the Vice President of Highly Automated Driving at HERE. Sanjay is tackling one of the most complex technical challenges associated with driverless cars: helping them see around the corner. Sanjay leads the team building the highly precise, machine readable map that self-driving cars need to position themselves on the road, anticipate what’s coming ahead, and ensure passenger comfort. Perfecting the map will be essential in an autonomous future. Before joining HERE in 2014, Sanjay held senior positions at YP (formerly AT&T Interactive) leading technology and product development for the consumer vertical, including local search, yield optimization, and dynamic data management. Earlier in his career, Sanjay worked on core algorithms for contextual search applications at Northwestern University’s Intelligent Information Laboratory out of which numerous technology startups were launched (i.e., Narrative Science, Allvoices, BuzzLabs, Intellext). Sanjay holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University and holds ten patents for his work in machine learning and informational retrieval.
