H-Shoe Tavern - Lee's - Collective - TURF

Jeff Cohen is the majority owner of Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace, two of Canada’s most revered and longstanding live music venues; Lee’s is currently 38 years young, and the H-Shoe just celebrated it’s 70 birthday
He is also a partner in Toronto’s Collective Concerts, one the biggest indie promoters in North America

Combined JC’s companies produce over 400 live music events a year, including having produced club shows from Halifax to Vancouver, large theatres, and outdoor festival events with the National, Arcade Fire, Broken Spcial Scene, NxNE, Mariposa, Sled Island, and TURF

JC is a rabid outspoken political advocate for the Candian live music industry, including having been the architect and founding member of Music Canada Live, and advisor to Ontario's Live Music Strategy, and an active member of Toronto's Music Advisory Council

An attendee at SxSW for now over 23 consecutive years, JC is also a part time resident of Austin, who has accompanied both Mayors Ford and Tory on Toronto industry junkets to Texas - His fave Austin eateries include Chuy’s, Lucy Fried Chicken, Franklins, La BBQ, Lamberts, Eddy’s, Via 313, Perla’s, Red Ash, La Condesa, and any Surf n Turf food truck

JC is a recipient of the Queen Diamond Jubilee Medal for his service to Canada - His fave current musical artists include Frank Turner, Jason Isbell, The Old 97’s, Joel Plaskett, Wilco, Drive By Truckers, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, The Sadies, The Mekons/Waco Brothers, Billy Bragg, and he currently ranks 2nd in Canada in live Bruce Springsteen, at 253, lifetime shows
