Air Force Strategic Planning And Experimentation

Lieutenant Colonel Eric Frahm is an experimentation program manager at the Air Force’s Strategic Developmental Planning and Experimentation office, based at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. In addition to “Pilot Training Next,” his current portfolio includes leading the experimentation working group for the Air Force’s Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) Enterprise Capability Collaboration Team. In that effort, Eric is designing the Air Force vision for command and control to provide persistent, agile synchronization of air, space and cyber effects in military operations. Prior to this assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Frahm amassed over 3,800 flight hours as a reconnaissance instructor pilot in the RC-135, U-2 and MC-12 aircraft. During an assignment to Air University, he worked as a wargame designer and division chief in the AU strategy office, where he led Air University research teams examining Air Force issues. Past projects include operational and strategic examinations of autonomy, directed energy, hypersonic vehicles, counter proliferation and counter-small unmanned aerial systems. Solutions he’s proposed have led to fielded technology and operational methods throughout DoD, government labs, interagency partners and allied nations.
