Bonnie Gale

Bonnie Gale is currently is the pastor of a small Unity church in Lakeway, Unity of Lake Travis. Unity, from its inception in 1890,held that no one exists outside of the heart of God. We honor the strenght of our diversity.

This is not the same message she received throughout her life in fundamentalist churches she attended and the universities she graduated from. She, first hand, felt the freedom of finally understanding that being LGBTQ and spiritual are not mutually exclusive. She believes that love always wins, and everyone has the right to be celebrated.

Bonnie has served as the past Coordinator for Austin’s Pride Interfaith CELEBRATION. This annual event held during Pride Week is open to all and brings together LGBTQ+ people and allies from a variety of cultures and faith backgrounds to celebrate and affirm all people as beautifully created and worthy of unconditional love and respect.

Bonnie was married to her partner in a big church wedding shortly after the Supreme Court ruled on marriage. She has been together with Vicky for 19 years with their blended family of 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
