Erica Gangsei
Erica Gangsei is Head of Interpretive Media at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She leads a multidisciplinary team of digital storytellers to create award-winning resources such as immersive audio walks, podcasts, artist mini-docs, interpretive galleries, and the experimental games initiative PlaySFMOMA. These digital resources feature a multiplicity of voices and perspectives, in order to foster deep and meaningful connections between the public and SFMOMA's artists, artworks, exhibitions, and programs.
Gangsei is also a nationally-recognized sculptor and conceptual artist, working primarily in puppetry, animation and installation. She studied Philosophy and Fine Art at Amherst College and Sculpture at the San Francisco Art Institute. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she now lives and works in San Francisco.
