David Webster

David Webster is an IDEO Partner who leads the company’s Product & Technology portfolio, based in Palo Alto.

Immersed in the heart of Silicon Valley, Webster is passionate about using design to find new meaning and value by humanizing technology in IDEO's relationships with tech giants, global brands, and startups.

Webster has been part of IDEO for 20 years. Previous roles include Managing Director for IDEO’s studios in both Palo Alto and San Francisco and Director of the company's global Health and Wellness practice.

Before IDEO, Webster designed motorcycles at GK Design in Tokyo.

Webster holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from University of Edinburgh. He is happiest being a kid with his kids and building real things for their imaginary worlds.
