Derrick is the Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of EHang, a global leading Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) company. He is Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur of 2016.
Derrick co-founded EHang with Huazhi Hu in 2014 and shortly thereafter led a hugely successful $860,000 Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to launch EHang’s flagship app-controlled consumer drone, the GHOSTDRONE. In early 2016, Derrick oversaw the global debut of the EHang 184, the world’s first Autonomous Aerial Vehicle, leading EHang rank into the world’s top three drone company as The Most Innovative Company of 2016 awarded by Fast Company.
Before that, Derrick has had a long history of entrepreneurial success, starting at a young age. At 16, he earned a scholarship to study engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and later attended Fuqua School of business at Duke University. While at Duke, Derrick developed a social app called “Chapter,” which earned him a spot in DUKE SIP incubator and US top maker space “RocketSpace” in Silicon Valley. After graduation, Derrick founded serial startups of an image software in Singapore and a hardware community “HardMake” in US. "
