Jill Nussbaum currently leads the design team at Instagram New York, focused on feed and discovery. Prior to Instagram, she worked at Facebook to help people connect to their local community and businesses. Throughout her 15+ year career, Jill has been focused on using technology to bridge physical and digital human experiences. She has had the opportunity to work at the forefront of developing technologies, and collaborate with tech companies, start-ups and brands that make a big impact in the world — Instagram, Facebook, Nike, Samsung, GE and Virgin, to name a few.
Jill is an active member of the New York design community and enjoys teaching, public speaking, writing, and advising young designers and tech start-ups. For the past nine years, she has been a faculty member at the Interaction Design MFA program at the School of Visual Arts. She frequently guest lectures at conferences and learning institutions like Fast Company, SxSW, AIGA/NY, IxDA, and General Assembly.
Jillʼs work has garnered dozens of industry awards, including the Cannes Titanium Lion, Cannes Cyber Lion, Clio Interactive Grand, and D&AD Black Pencil. Her work also has been featured in I.D. magazine’s Annual Design Review, Contagious magazine, Communication Arts, and FWA’s mobile site of the Day. She has juried several competitions including the One Show, Communication Arts and the Clios.
