Alisha Greenberg
Alisha Greenberg is widely recognized as an industry leader in the field of sports philanthropy, who has been called upon to share her expertise at industry conferences and has been featured in global media outlets such as The New York Times, Sports Business Journal and ESPN. As a trusted thought leader and practitioner in the field, organizations often reach out to Alisha for guidance on trends and opportunities; to serve on planning committees; and to judge grant programs including Major League Baseball, NIKE Global Community Impact, U.S. Soccer Foundation and Women’s Sports Foundation. Alisha launched Rounding Third LLC in September 2009. She has an expert talent for educating & advising those making an impact through sport. Her 16 years of extensive experience in the industry have added value to organizations around the world. She has pioneered innovative solutions for prominent clients including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; Justin Verlander’s Wins for Warriors; the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition; 3x Olympian Tracy Evans & Kids Play International; Athletes for Hope and Positive Tracks. Alisha is the director of the prestigious RWJF Sports Award on behalf of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy dedicated solely to health. She works to achieve the vision of the award which annually recognizes a professional sports team, individual athlete/coach, and a sports organization for inspiring healthier communities through sport. Alisha has served as a catalyst for greater knowledge on the subject of sports philanthropy. She saw a void in educational opportunities at the university level which led her to envision and create the first ever academic program in sports philanthropy. The Sports Philanthropy Executive Certificate saw exceptional growth under her leadership from Spring 2013-Summer 2016. Building on that achievement, Alisha now serves as founder and co-director of the Sports Impact Leadership Certificate (SILC), a one of a kind training program. Offered in partnership with SILC & Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Program, this non-credit professional certificate at the intersection of sports and philanthropy serves as a hub for sharing ideas and innovations. Prior to consulting, Alisha spent eight years at the Sports Philanthropy Project (SPP) managing all sports partnerships with teams, athletes, leagues and others, enabling her to build an extensive network within the field. She developed innovative professional development opportunities in addition to directing sports outreach efforts for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation social marketing campaigns. Alisha began her career in event management working with the Corel Champions Tennis Tournament and the National Kidney Foundation. She served as Guest Services Manager at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Washington, D.C. She is an active member of her community previously sitting on the advisory committee for the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington’s Sports Hall of Fame and serving on the board of the DC chapter of Women in Sports and Events. Alisha graduated from Indiana University, earning a degree in Sports Marketing and Management with a minor in Business. She holds a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from The Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership at Georgetown University. Alisha lives in Bethesda, MD where she enjoys coaching her son’s little league Orioles and cheering on her favorite team at Camden Yards.
