Laura Morrison
Laura Morrison was an Austin City Council member for seven years, and ran for the office of the Mayor of Austin. She is currently a city planner and was instrumental in working with Forklift Danceworks as part of the City's planning efforts. As a Council Member Laura served as Chair of the City Council’s Emerging Technology and Telecommunications Committee. Additionally, Laura served on the Council’s Audit and Finance Committee, the Comprehensive Planning and Transportation Committee and the Public Health and Human Services Committee; and represents the City on the Community Action Network Board of Directors and the City of Austin/AISD/County Joint Subcommittee. Laura’s professional career has included working as an engineer for Lockheed Martin. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the School of Public Health at UNC, Chapel Hill, Master’s degree in Mathematics from UC San Diego; and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics at UC Berkeley.
