Steve Allen
Steve is a master at building bridges in the community and with employers to dismantle employment barriers for people with disabilities. At Colorado’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, he works with individuals with disabilities to navigate the job search and the application, interview and post-employment process.
Over the past decade he has discovered many best practices for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and has built a true spectrum of employment opportunities, with job placements ranging from local thrift stores to high-tech positions with top companies.
He leverages relationships with private sector diversity leaders like Walgreens’ Randy Lewis, and leading disability advocates like Temple Grandin to build towards improved disability services. He also actively participates on several boards and committees that directly affect access to employment like the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board and RMAC Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council.
