Jeff Frank
Having 30 years of experience in the thermal imaging industry, Jeff Frank is the senior vice president of global product strategy for FLIR Systems, where he plays an integral role in the development of new thermal products across a variety of markets and industries. Jeff became a member of FLIR’s team in 2004, where he has been a driver in the development of FLIR’s professional security product line, led the company’s entrance into the automotive industry, and identified marine demand for thermal imaging systems. Jeff has always been able to see past the horizon and into the true power of thermal imaging and how it can be used beyond common applications. Thus, the creation of Lepton, the world’s smallest microbolometer-based thermal imaging camera core came to fruition, which led to the creation of the FLIR ONE, the world’s first-ever personal thermal imaging device for consumers. Jeff’s current area of focus at FLIR is the development and implementation of thermal imaging technology in drones, resulting in a collaboration with DJI to create the DJI Zenmuse XT. He understands how drones equipped with thermal imaging benefit the park rangers in Africa, enabling them to safely cover more ground at night to find poachers that are threatening the lives of endangered wildlife species. Prior to FLIR, Jeff was a founder and vice president of business development for Indigo Systems, Inc., until Indigo’s acquisition by FLIR in 2004. Preceding Indigo, he was vice president of business development for Raytheon Corporation from 1994 to 1997, and for Amber Engineering from 1987 to 1994.
