Jeff Renoe
Jeff Renoe was diagnosed with acute rapid cycling bi-polar disorder in 2007, and he and his psychiatrist were able to back date his illness to elementary school. It's something he's lived with and managed for years, and until 2015 was something he kept closely hidden. Since being inspired to open up about his own experiences he's become an advocate for ending the stigma surrounding mental illness.
It's why he started the Our Fractured Minds podcast to redefine what it means to live with mental illness, and to give a voice to those who suffer. As host of the show he's interviewed guests with with a range of illnesses including clinical depression, PTSD, bi-polar disorder, depression with psychotic episodes, alcoholism, anxiety, attempted suicide, uselessness, and worthlessness, and have touched on topics related to misdiagnoses, hiding in your own skin, ending the stigma around suffering, ending the stigma around seeing a doctor, and more.
